I would like to know what December Boys is supposed to be about? Its a little tough to figure out. On the surface it seems to be obvious but some of the lyrics are questionable... Anybody have any thoughts?

I just want to clarify Peter's song, "Angel Town." Peter is NOT saying the girl/woman is a "whore" in "Angel Town." He's saying that she's a phony, a fashion plate/fashion victim who is only concerned about her looks. "W" is a fashion magazine. It is not as popular as, say, Vogue, but it is mainly read (I think) by people in the fashion industry and people who are really interested in fashion. That is what the line in the song means. I mean, it just fits in with the whole song. Fat Boy Roy is a fraud, et al.
Also, "Another Falling Star" talks about the rise and fall of a celebrity, so it fits into the theme of the album (Los Angeles/Hollywood). There is no offense taken. I understand where someone could say that the girl/woman is dressed "fashionably," which is sometimes synonymous with that "trashy" look, but that is not what Peter means. He means that someone is more concerned with his or her outward appearance than his or her inward character.
Okay, well, how about "Angel Town?" There's always ONE line that gets me screwed up on what it means. It's the whole, "She's a page from 'W'." Now, I think he's saying that she's a (sorry if this offends anyone) a whore. So what do you think? I mean, really. "She's a page from 'W'?"

I know Peter wrote "December boys" for a movie called exactly December boys, so I think that the song is relating to film's plot...I think it tells about three orphan brothers dived by the circumstances of life.
anyway, it is a beautiful song!
