Hi, I am new on this forum but fan of Peter's voice, piano playing, interpretation and lyrics for some time, I've first heard "Sway" about 2 years ago and liked it, but after "He's watching" I felt in love... This will be my favourite forever, simply beautiful. Thank you! I can't wait his Warsaw concert on 11 April at Congress Hall.
PS sorry for my English

Oops!! Sorry for posting my comment in a wrong place, I have no idea how I did that! :P I hope you'll excuse me *blushes*
Hi everyone :)
I was sitting a bit closer (not that close though) I guess as I really really loved the whole concert and it did "rock" me hahaha... However I also think that people who were sitting at the back of the hall may not have enjoyed it that much.. :/ Anyway, I just can't get the concert (and generally Peter!!) out of my head... I loved seeing how he was enjoying himself on stage, it just brought pure joy to my heart :D
I hope he will come back to Warsaw again!!! I don't care what place exactly - just Warsaw :D *dreams*
Greetings ^^
Zosia
hah, i had the same feeling!
i mean
that something was missing...
maybe you're right about the place, congress hall is not very good for jazz concerts, or for concerts at all - the distance is too long, i think. And what's important about jazz is the atmosphere of closeness, an noticeable connection (maybe rainbow :)) between artist and his audience.
i also feel that peter still has some way to go before he finds what is really "his" style... but at least he's only three years older than me - and what is that we do at this age, if not searching searching searching?
hope he'll find his perfect path someday and that i'll be able to hear the results :)
still it was soooooo good to hear peter live :)
cheers from poland!
Hi Stefcia,
Thank you for your nice review.. ^^
So the venue wasn't full? well, as long as you did enjoy the concert, that's the essential .. :)
Did you get to meet him after the show? got you CD signed? I read some fans did get their CD signed..
Don't worry about the order of messages.. it's a bit confusing.. :D
Hello, Diana, thanks for your nice and important words ;)
Now, what is the most important, about the Warsaw concert. Hmm... First of all it isn't objective opinion, only very my opinion made unfortunately from quite far away place on the audience.
It was great with it's music line - his songs, voice, band ect. perfect and brilliant, exactly what I could expected from him, but it wasn't performance, show, I suppose he didn't rock Congress Hall as I saw it could be rocked by other bands - not disco bands of course ;)
I see two reasons of it.
First of all the place wasn't perfectly accurate to type of concert which Peter gives, Congress Hall is big (over 2800 places) and with imposed atmosphere of moderateness and artificialness. And in that case it depends on artist if he moves the audience, performer has to catch also verbal contact with the public, encourage to express theirselves by movements, voise - something like that. Should say something more than - I am happy to be here, Thank you, Thank you. And this is connected with other reason I see.
Peter isn't kind of "scene animal" and he doesn't have to, his so young and it wouldn't fit to him right now. But because of that for me concert looked like due to scheme, routine, he came - played and sang excellent and wonderfully, he was sweet but... something was missed.
As a whole for me it was great, I was happy I could hear him alive, and this CD is superb, much more different from previous, and that's approve his wide abilitties and huge talent. I could see two things which interested me a lot. His feet - very active during some songs, moving them like he was marching. And his tiny ankles. And why he turned his head over his right shoulder from time to time during songs, it looked like he was spitting at the floor, I know he didn't, maybe he had a cough :)
Ending, I am thankfull for that concert, always could be better.
PS Sorry Diana, I don't know why this post isn't under your's but over, I did "replay" to your post...
