No, you didn't make a mistake. Cinderella Beautiful is certainly a song that could be autobiographical. Goodbye, Philadelphia could be, too. We don't know, but we certainly can wonder! I think Cinderella Beautiful is a beautiful thing for a man to say to a woman. I still think he takes little pieces of his life, injects them into the songs, and then creates an entirely new story. Bravo, Peter! He is the BEST!
Sway, I'm sorry, I was not talking about this kind of songs, i forgot to mention it! No I mean songs like Cinderella Beautiful, (this is The song that every woman think about when we wonder if Peter's song are autobiografical)...
I'm sorry!
Bye
It's Sway here and, yes, I did read that article that said that some of Peter's songs are autobiographical (at least some lyrics) and how impossible it is to create something that is not partly autobiographical is very hard. However, someone also posted on the board that certain songs are not autobiographical, but how Peter is so gifted and talented that he can create stories from his imagination that he just wants to tell. For example, The Girl for Me Tonight is NOT about Peter (thank goodness!). Also, Make It Out Alive is NOT about Peter either (the song about the convict trying to escape from prison (thank goodness on that one, too, but we already knew there was no personal connection there!). So, thanks for your response. I really do appreciate it.
hello everybody! Sorry for my poor english... And for Sway :
Hi! i'm maryline, i'm 25, and I totally forgot to introduce myself! Sorry!
I live in Cannes (France) and I knew Peter in 2004 on French TV. I saw Peter's show only once, in Bordeaux in March, 24th 2008. It was amazing! I do love his music, and his band was absolutely fabulous. I don't if somebody answered your question Sway, but I read an article in witch Peter said that in every song, a part is autobiographical, note always all the lyrics, but I'ts very difficult to write a song you're not concerned about.
excuse me, it's a little bit difficult for me to write in english.
Is it true that Peter has a lot of French fans? I'm proud to hear that.
Bye
Mary
well....just like i said I'm Jerry. I like Peter Cincottis songs and i bought the piano sheets of "Goodbye Philadelphia". But I'm still searching "Cinderella Beautiful", but i can't find it. Would be nice if somebody could post those sheets. Chords are okay too ^^. That song is ... some kind of wonderful *smile*. Hmm..
I did not understand how many French fans Peter had! Well, I love France, and I love Peter's music. Not a fanatic, but definitely a fan. What is this connection? Qu'est que ce?
Hello Babelle !
A bientôt,
Lari
hello i'am fany et je parle pas un mot d'anglais mais je suis fan de peter cincotti depuis quelques temps déja j'arrive un peu a vous lire mais ne comprends pas tout j'ai hate de le voir enfin tout bientot....depuis la suisse
Hi, I'm Bernie from hum... French Guyana!
I'm fan of Peter Cincotti the day I bought his cd kind randomly!!! I've been surprised and addicted!
Though I'm on the same side of the planet of the USA i'm gonna fly all the way to Paris to watch him perform at the Olympia!!!!
Soooo excited!!!!
It's been a year or so i've been listening to jazzy sound and I have to say that his is the first artist I'm really interest into!!!
well that's all for now!!!
see ya!
Named Diana.. Indonesian living in Paris, France for about 6 years now. I saw Peter Cincotti for the very first time when he came to the Star Academy Show. Last night it was his 2nd appearance in French Television.. He did really well, I like his music.. I am not addicted yet, but I guess in no time, I will be :D
I'm thinking of going to see him in march..
You are so sweet because you said, "I can't answer your question, Sway, I'm sorry!" That's so sweet, but that's okay. It is just great to have other people who are fans of Peter who can talk to each other on an official Peter message board. I can't wait until the album is released in the States in the Spring. I've heard little bits of the songs on the new album and, as always, everything sounds superb. If Peter musically goes in this new direction or goes back to the jazz standards, it won't matter to me because everything he does sounds great and is great. I'm very excited to be a member on this website!
I'm Babelle. I'm orginally from Italy but I live in Belgium. I know Peter Cincotti' songs for a few months now (I'm novice ...feeling like a new born baby really! So I can not answer your question Sway, I'm sorry!) , I heard him on radio and since that day my CD player keeps on playing "East of Angel Town" ...I like the way he's talking about several subjects of life. My favorite songs will probably be "Man on a mission" (...Put your little hands in mine ...Ohhh! ...Put them anywere ...I'm a man who's on a misson), Witch's brew, Country Life (Beautiful ballade), Goodbye Philadelphia, ...You know what ! They are all excellent!! ...Ciao a tutti! A presto!
Yep! I do Adeline. But I don't think we should speak another language then English in this forum. I don't wanna make anybody feel ill at ease. :-)
Are you going to his concert in March? I'm from Brussels ...
I guess no one knows the answer to my above question??? Does anyone know if they are really about him or if they are just songs that he thought would make a good story? Has he said anything about them before he introduces the songs at this concerts? I have never seen Peter in concert (I would like to though, when he finally comes to the US again). However, I did see his interview on YouTube when he was on the Paul O'Grady show back in November 2007. He is so down-to-earth and funny. He seems like a really nice guy, which is why I guess I am so curious about the origin of those songs. He just doesn't seem like the type of guy who is portrayed in those songs!
You are going to LOVE his performance. When he does his piano solos.....it will make you want to melt! The show I saw, he also got up and spoke (almost reminded me of how Tony Bennet performs). He told jokes, and the music was so heart felt and passionate that I never wanted it to end. HAVE FUN!!!!!
Hello all. I'm glad to know that other people like the song "Sway" as much as I do. It is my favorite track, but maybe that will change when we his new album is released in the US. I've always been a little curious about these songs: "The Girl for Me Tonight," "Man on a Mission," and "Always Watching You." Does anyone know if they are autobiographical? LOL! I actually like the redesign of the website. In my opinion, it is creative and different! :-)
Hi ! I'm Eve and I live in Lyon, France.
I am a huge fan of Peter Cincotti since the song "Sway". I like jazz music and I really love Peter Cincotti, I'm addicted by his songs. He gave me the desire to learn the piano. I'm so excited because I will see him on 25th March for the first time. That's great !
Hi, I'm Windy from California, USA. I have been a fan since 2003 as well. I saw Peter perform almost two years ago.....it was AMAZING!!!! I wish I had the money to travel and see him perform again......hopefully he will return to CA someday...hhhhhhmmmmmmmm.......... At first none of my friends had heard of Peter, but now I have introduced just about everyone I know to his extremely talented music. The first CD is still my favorite, but I love it all.
This is jazzsinger83 a member of the old message board. I've been a fan since 2004 and proud of it. I also have the new album already, and I was probably the first one in my country to grab it off the shelf. I wonder why the European and Asian countries got it first...especially when people here go, "Peter who?" Anyway, that aside, may I just say to the old members, WTF happened to the old board?!?! Is there any way to re-access it? I'm still trying to compose myself from the shock. When they redesigned the board before, everything on the board was still there, but now, it's all gone. hmm.. Oh well, nice to see you all again though! I guess the show must go on. ciao.
Hello, Sara from Portugal (currently in Brussels).
A friend of mine 'introduced' me to Peter Cincotti two, three years ago while I was still living in Lisbon.
It was surrender at first hearing.
A few months llater (completely in love with is music and voice) I had the chance to see a show in the first row at JazzFest in Cascais (near Lisbon) and ... no words for it.
His interpretation of Sway is my favourite one. I get the chills every time I hear it.
I love the way he sings, very passionately; he is brilliant playing the piano ... just amazing; all the musicians that play with him, they're absolutely professional and nice on stage ... Long live his career.
I bought his new CD here in Belgium (Charleroi). It was my first one since I moved here to work for Ryanair.
I'm hoping to go to another show somewhere in Europe ... very soon!
Big fat kiss to you all,
Sara
p.s. congratulations with the new website. It's really good! (whoever did it)
Hello everyone. My name is Laura and I have been a Peter Cincotti fan since my freshman year of college, back in 2003. I am currently a first year medical student in the US. I play the piano, harp, and cello – mostly classical. I’ve tried jazz, but it’s hard to make the switch when you have trained in only one genre of music! Peter came to my hometown recently to give a concert as part of a fundraiser. I was so excited to finally see him live. Unfortunately, being a broke student living on loans, I was unable to pay the $200 ticket price. :-( For now, I will patiently wait for his new album to be released in the US and hope that he comes back to my area later in the year.
I'm Sonia, from France, I've been a fan for 4 years (already?!). I've posted in the past and now I'm a lurker but I've always been addicted to Peter's music for sure! Great to see familiar faces on this new message board...I 'm quite confused with this new system for now =S I'm very sad the old one's gone, so much good stuff has been lost :(
perhaps my issues extend beyond the format of the message board. Because, I honestly think it looks horrible and is hard to read and navigate.
I think some of what may bother me is the first post...on a fan-based board...is not commenting on Peter's music...old and new...but the fact that he's "hot."
Sorry. As an "old-school" fan...this sort of degrades the fandom. IMHO!
You gals are the only good part of this new format! What the heck happened?!! I swear, if and when he tours the US it better be worth it...'cause so far, the changes may be great for Peter, but they're crazy annoying for us!
Anyway...I'm Heather...I live in D.C...I teach ballet, do creative consulting in several arts related fields and just launched an arts conervatory with a couple of good friends and colleagues. Been a fan since Peter's first album...I (along with the aforementioned gals) have been around here for ages!
Hi, I'm Shirl from the original message board. I'm from Pennsylvania (USA) and have been a fan of Peter's since 2003. I also own his Yahoogroup website. I have to agree that the text on this board is very difficult to read with the red-on-orange. The way the message board is set up is also difficult to navigate. This website and message board needs some work yet but that is just my opinion. I do hope that this site will keep up-to-date with news of Peter and especially news of his upcoming concerts with advance alerts.

Anyway, I'm Kimberly, been on this board for over 2 years now, been a PC fan for forever. I'm in the US in Michigan.
Oh God, I agree with you, Kiki, what a strange idea to change our MB, buuuu...
But anyway, I wanna say hi, to everyone. Old friends from board and new one. I will be look in here, from time to time. Remember I always watching, though I'm not visible :D
