It might as well be spring...

It's Friday the 13th and it's my unlucky day.

All week I've been telling myself, somehow you'll make it to Peter's concert tonight. Well since it's 7:08 here and since every good concert starts at seven and St. Louis is about 4 hours away, I think it's time to accept the fact that I'm not gonna make it.

I try to tell myself, "Cheer up. He won't be playing for long. It's not worth the $45 a ticket just to see him play a couple of his songs. Besides, you're going to Denver, CO to see him in August. Now THAT will be a concert." But I feel like I've failed. I always thought that if something was worth doing, it's worth doing right. It's the perfectionist in me. Well, the perfectionist in me is saying that a REAL fan of Peter Cincotti would be there tonight AND go see him in Colorado. That's what really gets me.

He's back. He's finally back. That's the only real comforting thought.

"And so I feel so gay in a melancholy way that it might as well be spring. It might as well be spring." By the way, in this context gay means happy. It's from the movie State Fair. Great song.

So to try and keep my sad spirits up tonight I surround myself with good movies, good books, Mr. Cincotti's music, and those cover versions I find so incredibly hilarious. I generally don't comment on YouTube videos, to be honest. But eventually, I found a cover version of "Goodbye Philadelphia" that was soooooooooo bad that I had to tell them. I went back for a good laugh tonight and saw that my comment had apparently been too objective. My comment, which was conducted in a kindly manner in the hopes of giving constructive criticism, had been removed. Because this person denied me of what little fun I had in nicely telling them they sucked I'm gonna post their video here. Or at least a link to it. So for those of you who are interested, I have watched all cover versions of "Goodbye Philadelphia" posted on YouTube and have found this to be the worst. However, it WILL give you a kick. So here you are ladies and gentlemen, "Mandy's" version of "Goodbye Philadelphia."

Now, in all fairness to put the worst version I've seen of a Peter Cincotti song on here, I should also put the BEST version of a Peter Cincotti song. This kid, doing "Angel Town" on a guitar, is actually darn good. He's not another Peter Cincotti or anything, but he is a good, all-around musician. So here you go. This kid's version of "Angel Town."

YouTube is such an awesome site.

Postmortem: "I'm a man who's on a mission; waking up the woman sleeping in your eyes." Well, I'd say that I have spring fever, but I know it isn't spring.
